Welcome to the link for Moura School’s Resource Centre. We hope you enjoy finding out more about our learning here. Mrs Keating, Mr Marshall and Mrs Hempseed are here to help you find whatever you need to make your reading more exciting, or your project more interesting. We are currently working on buying more items and magazines for reluctant readers and making our library a comfortable and inviting place to be. We are very excited to be having two authors visit to work with the students from Moura and surrounding schools.

Things are always happening at our resource centre. Each month a new order of beautiful books arrives from Australian Standing Orders. These are lovingly covered and released for borrowing and are always a popular favourite.

Book Week is coming so keep an eye out for us a-reading and a-rocking as we celebrate

Reading Rocks!

.... the theme of this year’s book week celebration. Each class will be looking at the shortlisted books as part of their library lessons and at the Coal and Country Festival Community Concert night, we will be rockin’ and rollin’ with songs and dances based on story books. So look out - you might just come upon Jack and his beanstalk or one or two little pigs if you are there. There will also be a competition to see who can make the best pet rock, so get thinking and be as creative as you can.

The Resource Centre is a busy place. Most lunchtimes, you are bound to come across chess players trying to out-think, out-last and out-play their opponents. The ultimate ‘Survivor’!

Our school Optiminds Teams are on their way to meeting the challenges presented to them in this year’s Optiminds challenge. Twelve creative thinkers are meeting as part of Friday afternoon activities to solve challenges and be able to present their solutions at the regional Optiminds Challenge to be held in Rockhampton on Saturday, August 20th. Good luck teams!
